England kisses him, says he loves him, smiles that crooked smile that he used to. He laughs and nuzzles closer, eyelashes brushing Spain's neck and breath whispering sweet nothings too soft to hear. Another kiss and lips part, fall back into the flowers with him; Spain laughs and smiles and holds his love, doesn't want to let go.
Not again.
Never again.
Fate isn't so kind; Spain wakes up from his dream. Tears stream down his face and he holds his head in one hand, the other on his chest above his heart. His fingers curl around the cross he finds there and he prays, prays till the tears stop.
God, it hurt.
