Title: Flagstone
Characters: Turkey, Greece
Rating: G
When he looked to the sky, all Greece could think of was freedom.
His fingers slowly find the scruff of a cat's neck and he places it down on the rail next him. It purrs and rubs against his hand; his only response is to pet and fondle it softly, cheek upon his other hand, gazing out into the wide blue.
Next to him, Turkey sits and pretends not to notice the yearning in his unwilling ward's eyes.
“How big is the world?”
Turkey pauses a moment, then glances up – when had he grown? - and shrugs.
“A helluva lot bigger than you or I.”
There's almost an enchanted wonder in Greece's eyes as he glances down, still petting the feline.
“With all your amassed lands?”
“Yea'. It's pretty damn large.”
Greece returns to staring out at the sky, idly letting the cat paw at his fingers.
“How does anyone get noticed in this vast world?”
Turkey laughs and stands, stretching a bit before answering.
“You just needta make yer mark, boy. They have no choice but t'see ya then.”
