110/365. pokemon au.

“You said you wouldn’t leave without me, Yuuta.” The elder twin sighs, listening to his younger’s complaint in his ear as he drags him along. Shun walks behind them and Kaname in front of them; the latter has a map and refers to it every so often, pausing at a fork in the road and glaring when the twins bump into him. “I know, but Shun was antsy. Besides, if I hadn’t, Kaname would’ve yelled at both of us.”

Yuuki sighs and lets go of his older brother, moving to peek over Kaname’s shoulder and then at the crossroads. Shun does the same, a thinking frown on his lips, and he points to the right-most road. ”Why don’t we stop in Catallia City?”

“What’d be the point? Cherrygrove isn’t that much farther,” Kaname rebukes, folding up the map and turning to the left. “We should just go there.”

“B-But this is supposed to be our journey!” Shun protests and the twins back up his dissent, sensing an opportunity to annoy Kaname almost instinctively. With a groan Kaname shoves the map back into his backpack and heading towards Catallia. Shun smiles at the giving in and follows, with the twins not far behind.

Hana and Haru (Yuuta’s Minun and Yuuki’s Plusle respectively) soon join their group, scaling their trainers’s tall heights and sticking close as the pretty, white-stone town surrounds them. The two pokémon ooh and aah over the sights, and the twins do the same - until Kaname smacks them angrily for their mockery. Shun wanders on, stopping by a central building and waiting for his friends.

They stay for a few days, just to keep off their feet and to spite Kaname with his grievance, and Yuuki’s the only one who notices a Psyduck following them out of town and down the road to Cherrygrove City. It isn’t following them exactly, but Kaname, and at the eastern end of Cherrygrove he catches it with one of Yuuki’s Pokéballs. It’s an annoyance (with a name befitting it - Asaba) and not one he’s ready to deal with (nor with the idea of being a trainer of any kind).
