Title: "beginning?" "beginnings." [2/3]
Characters: Chizuru Tachibana
Rating: G
109/365. pokemon au.
Chizuru Tachibana wakes up in the back of a moving truck; he’s sore all over, but can’t find room to complain as the door slides up and sunlight streams in. Olivine City is more beautiful than he could have imagined, and he nearly jumps out of the truck, scaring both his grandmother and his mother. He apologises and turns around, digging through a box for a Pokéball and grinning when he finds it.
A Mareep joins him as soon as he lets her out; she’s cute and fluffy, a present from his late grandfather that he got when he was younger. She bleats quietly at the sights, growing louder when Chizuru starts to head off, and runs to catch up with him. They explore the city, peeking into the lighthouse and getting a bite to eat at the café, and it’s only noon when they return to their new home, spent. Everything they’ve brought from Unova’s been moved in, although they have another two trucks to wait for with the rest of their stuff, and the Tachibana family sits down to eat. Chizuru pushes his vegetables around on his plate, not minding their conversation until his grandmother rumbles something about letting Chizuru leave home.
That catches his attention and he jerks up, slamming his knee into the table and yelping. He bypasses the concerned looks of his parents and leans forward, grinning.
“Can I really?!” His excitement is palpable, and his mother can’t help but smile at it. “When we get settled in, sweetheart.”
Two weeks later, Chizuru stands at the edge of Olivine City with his Mary, hands in his pockets and enjoying the sea breeze drifting in from the south; he lets out a big breath and starts off, butterflies making a temporary home in his stomach.
