Title: worriment
Characters: Spada Belforma, Iria Animi
Rating: G
92/365.
"Stop cryin'," he tells her, watching from the doorway. "You think Luca's gonna like it if he wakes up and your ugly mug's next to his?"
Iria looks up, feeling her face flush in anger, and she opens her mouth to retort; Spada raises his hand and steps in, shutting the door quietly behind him and taking a seat on the ground beside her. She closes her mouth, licks her lips, and leans forward again, resting her head on her arms and watching Luca's sleeping face. She feels Spada watching her again and she scowls, reaching over to shove him and feeling him not move an inch. It's a little hesitant, but he lays a hand on her shoulder and props his chin up on his palm, turning his gaze to Luca, too.
"It's gonna make it harder on Luca if he sees you're cryin' about him, y'know. He'll blame himself." Spada pauses and Iria can feel he's struggling with someone - some demon of his own, maybe, but the moment only allows a brief thought about it before he continues. "He'd probably start chasin' my choice ass if he saw it, too. You're less pretty when you cry."
Iria snorts, trying to hold back laughter; the mental image of Luca trying to court Spada is as hilarious as it is not too far-fetched (they had moments, and she knows - can feel - the love that Luca has for all of them, and it's always stronger with Spada and her than with the others) and she doesn't have to look to know Spada's grinning at her. He shifts his position - laying down like her, maybe, since he moves his hand from her shoulder back to his side, although she can't be sure without looking at him - and sighs.
"Ange says he'll wake up in a few days, probably." It isn't a sure thing, but he was better than when they first laid him down. "So don't worry so much."
"I know that." Her voice surprises her a little, but now that she's remembered how to talk she isn't going to stop. "How about you don't worry so much, too? You're like a hen pecking around the door all the time, even when it's not your turn to watch him."
Spada shoves her with his elbow but doesn't say anything, and Iria lets the topic stay sleeping, fingers itching to hold Luca's.
