Rommy smiles sweetly as she watches followers of the church chat amongst themselves and cast wary glances at the stairs down to the basement; they can't hear the howls of pain with their puny human ears, but the screams sound as sweet as any music to her and she keeps her place by the wooden door, arms crossed against the small of her back. She closes her eyes and feels the old, splintering wood with the tips of her fingers, feel her heart thunder in her small chest as the thought of her homeworld getting closer and closer springs with every dying shriek.
