There are sapphires and emerald, opals and rubies, topazes and amethysts (his favorite). Ganymede rifles through them, feeling his anger grow with every gift (flawless, every single one of them) and pushes them away, watching with satisfaction as the gems clatter across the stones helplessly. Apollo floats above him, frowning, and Ganymede concentrates on kicking the frivolities of a life he lost not a week ago instead of the ever-present annoyance of his life. He can’t break them - sandals aren’t good for that kind of work - but he makes sure they all end up in the field of flowers surrounding the ruins, lost among the white blooms. Out of sight and out of mind.
