Title: library - take two
Characters: Luca Milda, Spada Belforma, Kongwai Tao
Rating: G
44/365.
"Oh-- that one looks like it might have something--" Luca stretches towards a book on the top shelf, frowning when he can't reach the top of it to pull it down the book in question is trapped tightly on both side, and his fingers try to wheedle their way between the overs before deciding there's no helping it. He glances at his two companions - both looking at books, although neither of them seem too interested (Spada isn't a reader and Kongwai just skims, likely looking for information pertaining to his quest, whatever it was) - and sighs.
"You need a little help or somethin'?" Spada leers over at him and he nods, pointing to the book in question. Kongwai glances over and shifts closer, standing on his tiptoes to touch the top of the book just as Spada does. Spada shoots him a look and Kongwai smiles; Luca feels like he's been thrown into a cage with two lions, still sizing each other up and ready for a battle. He knows that only one of them goes picking fights, but he really can't help but wonder --
"Allow me to help you, Luca."
"I was already reachin' up to grab it, man, don't even try to pull that."
Spada's fingers slip around the top of the book and Kongwai's discreetly pushes them off. There's a miniature skirmesh for the ownership of the book, one that Luca ducks out of and stops a few shelves off from to watch while turning the pages of a book he had perused earlier. Spada wins out (Kongwai backs off with a smile, which Luca thinks makes Spada even angrier because the latter seems to like fighting) and gives him the book; the tense silence doesn't leave until they reassemble to share what they've learned, the memory left behind with the book in its shelf.
