Title: killing
Characters: Luca Milda
Rating: G
20/365. Post-game.
Luca hopes he never has to kill another man again (or a woman or some senseless innocent thrown into a war because of the way their leader wants to destroy the world and they think they're still going to achieve Utopia); the feeling of blade slicing through flesh always makes him queasy, even when he starts to think he's gotten used to it (although the thought that he might've gotten used to it makes him more nauseous than anything else), and although it doesn't haunt him too much after the journey's over (the dreams of dead men trying to drag him down to Hell with them-- those faded after a few nights waking up in cold sweat and having Spada or Ange check on him and calm him down, although the former usually made fun of him to help ease his worries a little – although he remembers waking up one time and screaming and Spada rubbing small circles on his back, an uneasy look in his eyes and a small frown on his lips and he couldn't tell if Spada was mad at him or himself, but he never asked about it so he never told) it still comes back in hot flashes and with a sharp, sudden sting, much like the knife he slices his thumb on while helping his mother cook. It doesn't quite make him vomit but it doesn't wet his appetite at all, and once he bandages it up and cleans the blood from the tile floor and the counter and the cupboards, he retreats to his room and curls up in his bed. It's nothing compared to what he got at Kelm (hurt a lot worse than that one, though) and after all he's been through, she shouldn't feel so sick from it, but he just remembers hot blood and warm bodies and the smell of freezing rot and cold death and it makes the bile rise in his throat, as quick as he is to swallow it back.
