Title: a church i saw once
Characters: Eco, Belca
Rating: PG

For the prompt 'mosaic'. B) Guess what kind of stories Eco's been telling.

His skin is a mosaic of colors; red and white and pink and shades upon shades of embarrassment. It flashes like a chameleon's hide, changing to camouflage, only Belca's is out of whack, and Eco grins at the comparison. He clasps his hands together, leans back, and whistles innocently.

"That's just what they say they did on those long days on the ship, though~ No one knows if it's true!"

"I still didn't want to hear that kind of thing! Dammit, Eco..."

"You wanted to know!"

Belca scowls at him and smashes his pillow into his face; Eco laughs, wiggles his fingers between Belca's face and the pillow, and makes him look up. A grump's look, all sour and bitter and shamed; it's cute on the prince, actually, and Eco's smile tells all. The pillow gets to meet Eco's face this time; Eco retaliates with his own, and soon it's nothing but a flurry of feathers and laughter. Belca's tuckered out by the end of it, and Eco falls on him when the miniature pillow fight's over; the prince is too tired to shove him off, so he just pushes his head and groans.

"Why does everything with you have to be so ridiculous, Eco?"

No response. He thinks he's going to regret looking; when he peeks open an eye, he feels it already coming on. Eco looks back at him, halfway off the bed and half-dressed, too, flushes a sharp red and hurriedly pulls his ribbon back over his neck. That's-- actually, Belca thinks that might've been the first time he'd seen Eco blush like that, though it's slowly clearing and reverting to a slightly angrier shade.

"You really shouldn't look when someone's changing! That's really perverted of you."

"We're both guys, it doesn't matter."

"Is that how you justify it?! Uwaah, Eco's been shamed!"

"-- What are you going on about?!"

Eco crawls back over, shirt hanging loose and yeah, Belca's eyes are immediately drawn to it and up the curve of his neck, right to where the ribbon still hangs, untied and only loosely slung over his neck. Eco frowns at him, and Belca's eyes jerk back up, and he wasn't blushing, he wasn't blushing, because there wasn't anything to blush about (though he has the feeling he's been caught peeping, for some reason). A quiet moment, then Eco crawls higher, straddling him; he lays on him slightly, chin on crossed arms and crossed arms on Belca's collarbone. A beat, and Eco's frown melts into a smile.

"Man, Belca, you're really easy to blush, aren't you? It reminds me of this mosaic I saw once in a church~"

"What?"

"Mmhmm. Red and black and white and grey..."

Eco's fingers are traveling now, making waves and kissing his fingertips to Belca's shoulders and neck. He can almost remember the first time they spoke now, laying like this, and he digs his first two fingers into the dip of his neck and shoulder. Belca winces, scowls, and glares at him when the fingers leave their post to push his mouth into a smile.

"Stop scowling all the time, Belca! A smile looks way better on you. There, see? How cute~"

Belca bites at his fingers, and Eco draws them away a little too late; his teeth scrape agaisnt skin, and an uncomfortable warmth suddenly drops into his stomach when Eco mouths a silent oh and turns a bright pink, akin to the ribbon he's soon tying afterwards around his neck, fingers fumbling and nervous laughter on the edges of his breath.
