Title: A Song About Gluttony
Characters: Eco, Belca
Rating: G

Happy 200th! And spoilers for chapters 29 and 30.

Eco wakes up periodically through the day and night; once Belca realizes this, he tries to stay in as often as he can. Whatever he needs, Belca gets for him. Mostly, it's water, and at sundown, it's soup. Hot, delicious soup; he can't help but take a bite before he enters Eco's room, and evidently Eco's watching him because he croaks,

"The sweet prince brought food for his friend;
something hot and - mmm! - good smelling,
but he took a bite before coming to tend,
and he thought Eco wouldn't be telling~
"

"Don't sing, idiot. Here."

Eco tries to sit up, but only manages to lean against the headboard; Belca sighs and scoots in beside him, pulling the blankets over his legs and propping the bard up.

"Headache?"

"A little. Ahh~"

"Don't-- that's embarrassing."

Eco keeps his mouth open until Belca resigns to feeding him. Scoop, feed, scoop; soon he's scraping at the bottom of the bowl, and Eco waves dismissively.

"Have the rest! I'm full."

He wastes no time in helping himself to what's left, and Eco watches him through a half-lidded eye and a haze of tired. When he's aobut to leave, he finds he can't; Eco's fast asleep on his shoulder. Carefully, he sets the bowl to the side and puts his arms around Eco, just enough to get comfortable. Eco responds by snuggling into him, turning halfway on his side and getting cozy in his arms. He grits his teeth, endures the affection, and settles comfortably with the bard.
