Title: love, love me do

Page 13, prompt 43; my heart is bleeding for you. For Sae.
'Today's going to be a good day,' is the only thing Hero thinks when he slips from the white satin sheets of his bed and sits gracefully on the edge of his feather-down bed. Thank God someone had removed the old, disgusting spring mattress! Though, the acidic smell of cigarettes was a downer; couldn't anyone do anything right for Hero the Brave? With a sigh he runs his hand through his hair, and turns to his door when he hears a rapping sound.
"Come in!"
He regrets every saying those two words because, lo and behold, a tray of delicious breakfast appears, balanced carefully on a cane. He draws the blankets closer to him as Excalibur enters, extends the tray towards him, and wiggles his nose-mouth-thing.
"Good morning, Hero! I have prepared breakfa--"
"I'm not your Meister anymore, Excalibur, so please--"
"Fool! I am doing this because I wanted to."
A pause. Hero reaches to take the tray, but Excalibur smacks his hand with the cane. A beat.
"And because my heart bleeds for you."
"Well, yeah... I mean, the heart pumps blood, so--"
"Fool! That's not what I meant!"
Bubbles floated in from the window, and a backdrop of pink curtains fell behind Excalibur in a perfect, straight manner; Hero had no doubt that Kid would've been pleased, had it been anyone other than Excalibur standing there.
"I... No, it's nothing. Never mind, you fool!"
The tray clatters to the ground, as does the curtain, as the Holy Sword sprints through the open window.
Hero stares, then decides that another hour of sleep wouldn't be too harmful.
