"I don't understand! If Mercutio was the killer... He had a perfect alibi! He was with Romeo when she died! How could he--"

"It's called poison, Maka. Weren't you paying attention to that? Juliet drank poisoned wine given to her by Mercutio."

Maka scowls in frustration and crumples the paper with the clues written on it, resolving to tossing it into the next trash can she can find. Soul snickers behind his hand and leans back against the wall, tilting his head up to the ceiling slightly.

"Aren't you the one always reading those novels? You should've known."

"It's different in real life!"

"It's a telenovela, Maka. It isn't real life."

"It's in Spanish!"

"You know Spanish."

"It's--"

"You can't think of anything, right?"

Maka huffs and hides her reddening, embarrassed face in a Sherlock Holmes book.

"Shut up. It's just different."

She looks up just in time to find Soul's grinning face, about to turn to laughing, and in time to use the book as an on-the-fly weapon - literally.
