Title: Resting In Jerusalem
Characters: Altaïr, Malik
Rating: G
Likely located after killing Sibrand? Definitely after your second mission in Jerusalem, however.
“Peace be with you, Malik.”
“And I have none of it with you coming around all the time.”
Altaïr’s lips quirk into a quick smile before he settles down into the pillows, stretching his weary muscles and letting the actions of the day wash over him. Malik peers from his room, a nib pen fixed in his teeth, before shaking his head and withdrawing back to his scribal duties.
“What are you here for?”
“Rest, before I go back to Masyaf.”
“It would be easier for you to just go there, rather than come here and risk being caught, thus compromising the Brotherhood.”
“It isn’t excuse enough to say I missed you?”
Malik rolls his eyes and the teasing, arrogant tone and dips his pen into ink, scribbling hard. He’s silent for a moment, then scoffs.
“I’m sure.”
Altaïr chuckles, then closes his eyes and dozes; Malik can tell by the slow rise and fall of his chest that he’s in a deep sleep, and mutters how he’d be caught like that one day, unwatchful and conceited.
