Title: boo!
Characters: Katniss Everdeen, Aligula
Rating: G
Katniss expects a lot of ridiculous things from Aligula—she did throw a party the first week dedicated to, of all things, finding your soulmate in what's effectively a killing prison that could have been set up by the Capitol themselves—but somehow, she still manages to be surprised when she sees her standing outside of her door, practically swimming in a bedsheet. She knows it's Aligula instead of Angel because she has that way of laughing, that high-pitched giggle that ends as quickly as it begins, and because she's the only person in this place who never seems to give a fuck that every inch of her hurts like hell.
That's only compounded by the way Aligula throws herself at Katniss, arms wrapping around her middle with a loud, "Boo!" being shouted. It echos down the hall a bit, and Katniss tries not to swear because that sure would get the attention of anyone wandering the corridors, but she takes a moment to catch her breath and have the passing thought of how she should get an award for dealing with Aligula's definition of friendship.
The bedsheet ghost steps back after a moment, humming, and spreads her arms.
"What do you think?"
"I think you're wasting a perfectly good sheet," Katniss replies between gritted teeth, and Aligula huffs, dropping her arms to her side. Given how her chest seems a little bigger, she might actually be crossing her arms in front of it instead, and Katniss shakes her head. "What are you doing?"
"Pretending to be a ghost!" Because that's definitely not a horrible thing to do after they watched someone's soul get sucked out of their body a few days ago, no, definitely not. "Ferid dared me to spook one of our sourpusses, and you're my favorite one, so I decided to visit you!"
"You didn't 'spook' me at all."
Aligula pulls the bedsheet off, wrapping it up in her arms with a pout, and Katniss almost expects that to be the end of it. She almost expects Aligula to just leave, to go find another 'sourpuss' to spook, but of course she doesn't: she just steps into Katniss' personal space and frowns up at her, hugging the bedsheet to her chest.
"What scares you then, huh?"
There are a lot of things, and Katniss bites her tongue on saying any of them. She steps back into her room, replies with a simple, "Nothing you could dress up as," and shuts the door on Aligula's face.
