Title: 1. we stay because we don't know where else to go
Characters: Keisuke
Rating: G
170/365. wowowowhat
There was nothing past the walls of the CFC, and there’s nothing past the dying landscape of Toshima. They couldn’t leave anyway – the Executioners would kill them, as once you joined Igura you were stuck for life -, but staring at the flat, thin land stretching out into the city (not from the city, into it), almost made him think that maybe if they ran (if they kept running) they’d get to somewhere safe, somewhere –
Where was safe? Nowhere, arguably. Akira wouldn’t leave anyway, not even if he begged him to, and he had –
He had said he wanted to protect Akira. He had said he wanted to help him win Igura, to help him stay alive. He didn’t know how – he knew he sucked at fighting, and he knew he’d only get in the way if he tried. Hadn’t he already gotten in the way once? – but –
But –
Keisuke curls against the wall and presses his eyes to his knees, hiding the wasteland that stretches across his vision.
