Title: Kaleidoscope

Notes: For Livejournals' 30smiles community ,prompt 'kaleidoscope'.
-The first kaleidoscope was created in 1816 and was patented in 1817. It was originally an instrument for light polarization, but made for an awesome toy instead! Cool, huh?
Red and blue and green and white greeted his eye when he looked through the tube in the light; he could barely contain his excitement at it. Beside him, England smiled and crossed his arms over his chest. Spain shook it momentarily and looked back at the light through it, mouth slowly forming an ‘O’. After a third look, grinned at England and nudged him teasingly.
“Who knew you’d come up with such a great toy?”
“It isn’t a toy. It’s a scientific tool for light polarization.”
“Whatever you say, Inglaterra.”
He handed it back to the sharply dressed England, wiping his hands on his own plain cream shirt. England scrunched his nose and wiped it off with a handkerchief, holding out his hand. Spain glanced at it, confused.
“Well? Give me your hand.”
“¿Por qué?”
“So I can clean it, unless you’re below even that now?”
Spain started to retort but was interrupted by England yanking his hand up and meticulously wiping it off with the handkerchief, hands shaking only the slightest and the soft fabric moving swiftly over his worn palm. He blinked and held his hand, smiling brightly when England sputtered and stared at Spain like he was insane.
“This is nicer.”
“If it involves you touching me in any way, then it isn’t nicer.”
Spain chuckled and brought England’s hand closer, kissing it softly and looking up mischievously.
“Ah? But Inglaterra, that’s not what you said last night.”
