"You're like a mother, Kate."

Kate sighs and brushes her hands free of flour, finishing the job on her apron. She turns to her young prodigy and frowns when she sees the cheeky grin -- which is all the incentive she needs to put her in a gentle neck-hold, chuckling when she squirms.

"That better not be about my age --"

"N-No, you just feel like one! You're all nice and you smell nice and you make really good cookies! That's all! Now let goooo!"

Kate complies and she tumbles out, grabbing onto the counter and pouting. The cheeky grin that's almost become a trademark starts to pull at the edge of her lips, though, and Kate turns so it can reveal itself fully.

"But now that you mention it --"

"Do you want another lump?"

"No, no! Forget what I said about you being nice like a mother, you're just an old hag --"

"Mothers need a certain amount of strictness too."

They both look up at the intrusion, who just leans against the doorway and smirks at them. They exchange glances and turn, acting as if he hadn't even said anything. He grimaces and makes his way to a bowl full of dough and reaches a finger for some--

a wooden spoon comes down full force on his hand and he grimaces, pulling it back like a child while his distaff counterpart looks on. She waves the spoon in his face and huffs, pulling the bowl away.

"We're making them all today, so there's not gonna be any left for you! Kasijas --" the Apostle appears, towering over them all; she spares him a grin and keeps on her command. "Could you get this guy out of here again? -- Don't fight again, just put him in his room or something!"

Kasijas scowls - he was a powerful being, not an errand boy for a girl three times smaller than him! - but a look from Kate ensures the ruling's carried out with minimal frustration.

Alone again, the two ladies of the house share a smile and turn their attention back to the task at hand.
