It was still a strange pleasure to be served breakfast by a lovely young mage. They didn't speak much - aside from small quips about the weather, or how the flowers were growing wonderfully this time; thank you for that, and I hope you'll help with the next patch too? - but he hadn't minded it.
He hadn't minded it at all, but who was he to try and stand up to Hilder -- someone who was the creator of all magic, and someone who Kate had forbade him from challenging now that he was contracted to her?
