Title: homesick already?
Characters: F. Mage
Rating: G
157/365.
You can see Pandemonium from Arad; it’s a dark shape in the sky, and sometimes her heart aches for the towering buildings of Brooklyn and Queens. Sometimes her heart aches for the northern farmland - although it could hardly be called that, as fallen into ruin as it had become thanks to the Saviors of Pandemonium.
Mostly, her heart aches for Kate, left alone in Central Park, without friend or family, aside from the skyscraper trees. She thinks of her whenever she sees her reflection, tugging at the skirt (that’s soon growing too short for her, as months pass) and she wonders if Kate thinks she’s dead, like the rest of the mages she sent to Arad. The Empyrean ship parked in West Coast’s harbor reminds her that home isn’t too far - although she’s heard the City of Angels is dangerous now, taken over by gangsters and cartels, with the princess kidnapped and all but one of her royal guard killed, and so it’s no easy task to make way to home.
