Title: little gifts and words of praise
Characters: Masaki Sato, Chizuru Tachibana

The short period they date is by far the most revealing, and as she watches him swing his wife around by her waist, grinning into her face and refusing to set her down this instant, Masaki wonders if Chizuru’ll kiss his little wife awake the way he did her. She wonders if those little whispered good mornings and i love yous were only for her, or if he’d say them to someone else. She wonders if he’d hug her from behind, sliding his palms against her stomach (maybe swollen, from pregnancy — would he?) and laughing childishly when she tells him to stop that, she’s trying to sleep, would it kill him to keep his hands off of her for two seconds?
And he’d say that it would, because he’d been waiting for so long without the antidote for the poison of her love, and then they’d kiss just to shut him up and be able to sleep for the night.
