The hen's feathers are soft and white, and Luca likes to push his fingers through them. She likes it, too, clucking softly as he attempts to groom her. He's never had a bird before, but they seem easy enough to take care of (love them, care for them, feed them -- it feels just like taking care of his group, truth be told). She's a sweet one too -- nothing like the birds that gossiped and hooted around the village; she eats seed from his hand and doesn't complain about so-and-so doing such-and-such with someone-or-other, and he can't help but relax around his hen. It always feels as if she has something out for Spada -- but he's sure it's just his imagination.
