Title: silence spells
Characters: Tristam, Kaeli, Phoebe, Reuben
Rating: G
42/365.
"That's a good look for you, Tristam."
The usually smiling, cheerful white haired boy scowled, shoving into his pike-wielding friend.
Reuben laughed and shoved him back, loving the usual talkative male's silence. It hadn't quite faded after the battle - evidently, the Trickster they had fought was much more powerful in that skill set than any of the others - and the ruins were peaceful with the quiet. Kaeli rolled her eyes and trekked ahead, peering around the corner and motioning to them.
"Hurry up. The coast's clear for now."
"Roger that, Kaeli~!"
The archer sighed and pressed against the wall as a hammer-toting girl ran past, fingers tight on her weapon and ready for battle.
"If only that Silence spell had held on Phoebe too, then perhaps we'd get the jump on some enemies of our own instead of the other way around."
"You're rather vicious today."
"Weren't you the one who started it?"
Reuben smiled slyly and shifted past her, not commenting on the accusation; Tristam pouted slightly, watching his elder, and Kaeli shook her head, reaching out to push him ahead with a friendly hand on his back.
"Go on, hurry it up. Do you want to make it to the stairs or not? You're the one who decided we should go rescue a kitten from here."
"Yeah, you're right-- hey! Finally!"
A sigh came from ahead, long and purposefully loud.
"And it had been so nice..."
