“Well, here we are,” she proclaims, sweeping her arm across her room. “My room.”

Spada peeks in and grins a little, ducking under her best friend's arm and immediately heading over to her shelves. There are books lining every inch of it, and on top are stuffed animals, ranging from pink bunnies to floppy-eared puppies and bright yellow ducklings. There are some of the same on Luca's bed and she cackles, reaching up to grab a vibrant green frog and squish it between her hands.

“You still sleep with stuffed animals? What're you, six?”

Luca blushes, embarrassed and angry; the former is plain as day on her face, and the latter's in the indignant flame of her eyes.

It just makes Spada laugh harder, shaking so much she can barely keep from falling to her knees. Luca makes her way over and snatches the plush frog from her, standing on her tiptoes to replace it between an old, worn white rabbit and a blue frog of the same kind.

“I-I don't! I was just looking at them this morning, that's all, and I just forgot to put them back.”

She seems rather sorrowful to put the ones that lay nice and tucked under her blankets up on top of the bookshelves, though, looking at them one by one with a small pout on her lips and the red slowly, gradually fading as she distracts herself from her embarrassment. Spada's lips twitch with concealed laughter, and she'd start howling with it again if she didn't run the risk of having one of those books being chucked at her (it had happened, once, after school – and while fiction books are nothing compared to textbooks, she's not looking for it to happen again).

She doesn't even comment when, much later that night, she hears Luca slides out of bed and tiptoe around Spada on the floor to retrieve one of the animals, settling back into bed with a happy, relieved sigh – although she's sure Luca can tell by her amused look at breakfast she knows she did it.
