Title: false stars
Characters: Spada Belforma, Luca Milda
Rating: G

14/365. dumbshit high school au.

There aren't as many stars on Luca's ceiling as there are in the sky, but Spada likes looking up at it anyway. There's a big star that he assumes is the North Star, and a small collection of planets around it. The imaginary sky stretches until the white wall stops it, like an oppressive mountain, and the little glowing stars stop all along the edge without any sense of randomization, like the sky's supposed to have. They're just glow-in-the-dark stickers, dotting the white ceiling above, and he feels Luca warm up beside him when he points them out.

“My mother put them up when I was eleven or twelve...”

Spada frowns a little and watches him out of the corner of his eye. “And you never thought about takin' them down?”

“All the time,” he admits softly. One of his hands reach out and try to grab one, but it's hopeless; they're both laying in bed, staring at the dark ceiling (lit only by the faintly glowing stickers), and there's no way to get them. Luca sighs and turns on his side, back to Spada and to the stars.

“I don't think I could do it, though. There's something comforting about them, I guess. Even if it's kind of childish.”
