Title: Laughter is the Best Medicine

For 64damn_prompts' prompt 'laughter'
Yuri loves Flynn's laugh. He loves the way it rings in and out, the way it makes him sound like a carefree kid again. He loves being the cause of it, because that means he's connecting back to the knight Flynn used to be, instead of the tired, busy Commandant he was. Even if it means getting a few scratches in the process.
Still, it's worth it.
Flynn love Yuri's laugh. It sounds like him – cynical, full of life, teasing. It's almost like a laugh that teases out other laughs. He loves it because, even if he's stern or tired, seeing Yuri's shit-eating grin and hearing his cocky laugh whispered into his ears, he laughs, too, and relaxes into the arms of an old friend. Even if it means getting a few weird looks around the castle.
It's so, so worth it.
It's not hard to kick the both of them into giggles. From bad pranks to bad jokes, if it's between them, they'll laugh. It's only when Flynn's honestly angry, or Yuri's seriously ticked, that it never pulls a decent laugh. Those are the times Yuri wants to hear one the most, and the times Flynn never lets one out as punishment. He knows Yuri loves his laugh, and in return, Yuri knows Flynn loves his laugh.
They're best friends – brothers - as close as can be. Even through the hard times –
(Yuri kills again and again and no matter how many times he does it, no matter how much he bloodies his hands, there's always another ruler who won't be brought to justice enough for his tastes.)
and especially the good times –
