Title: Phrases
Characters: Ganymede, Apollo
Rating: G

Olimpos (Olympos? Olympus?) is a really odd sort of manga. But it's very beautiful! It's a little deep and philosophical, and Greek mythology buffs might be left wondering, "What the hell was that?" but it's pretty sound. But maybe I'm just a lover of eccentric things.

There's a lot of time to kill when you're immortal. Apollo's had a lot of time to think about it, and he's had a lot of time to try out every phrase he could say and to see if it was true. Gods can't lie, after all. There's only one phrase he hasn't tried yet.

So one day, while Ganymede's out and about, leaning against the Parthenon's walls and staring into the endless field of flowers, Apollo decides to try it out.

“Ganymede!”

The beautiful blond boy looks up, pursing his lips at the sight of the red-haired god.

“I love you.”

The words slip out effortlessly, and it's worth the embarrassment to see the surprise, then anger, then surprise again flash on the boy's face along with a colour as deep as fire.

“What's that supposed to mean?!”

“Exactly what it says.”

“You're lying.”

Apollo floats down from his perch and lays his hand on Ganymede's cheek, smirking, at the darker red blush that follows.

“But Ganymede...”

His voice is a purr; his lips hover close to the stolen Prince of Troy's.

“...gods can't lie.”
