Title: open secrets over an open fire
Characters: The Kid, Zia, Zulf, Rucks

One night, they sit around the monument and trade stories; it isn’t the first night, or the last, but it’s a special one. The Kid admits he had his first kiss stolen by a girl who worked at a saloon; he says she was beautiful, and he fingers the crystal barrette that’s always hooked to the inside of his scarf as he asks the others. Zulf tells them about his fiancée - how she had kissed him after he proposed, and that was the last thing he could recall. Zia doesn’t look at the boys when she says she’s never had one - and it’s a little weird to think about, that a girl who had a guy she loved still had her first kiss waiting to be given away - and when they turn to Rucks, he turns his eyes to the stars and doesn’t say a word.
It isn’t important now anyway.
