2. Complicated
They're not dating, but they live together; they're not married, but they hold hands in public and squabble over what to buy at the grocery store; she's not in love with him (although it isn't mutual; he's still in love with her), but she feels angry when she sees him entertain other girls and waves to her as if he's done nothing wrong.
3. Making History

4. Rivalry
She remembers the feel of her palm slapping across a girl's skin for a long time to come; she remembers his face even better, with his matching mark and the glittering lights of the restaurant behind him, and even though she doesn't love him she doesn't want to see him kiss another girl the way he kisses her.
5. Unbreakable

8. Gateway
"Who was she anyway?" She asks, fingers curled around the stem of a glass filled halfway with white wine; he sips his own and stares ahead at the flowered arch leading out of the restaurant and shrugs helplessly, lips pursed as he replies, "Just a girl I dated in Germany."
9. Death
He's thankful for her company at his grandmother's wake, and tells her afterwards that black doesn't suit her; she tells him not to give her another opportunity to wear it, and his heart skips a beat when she squeezes his hand in the car.
10. Opportunities
The smell of her skin is almost as intoxicating as the drink in her hand, but he sets the latter aside and holds the first close to his chest, feeling her loosen in his arms and awaits the groans of a pounding headache in the morning.
